Precision for Medicine is a Clinical Research Organisation specializing in precision medicine, rare diseases, and oncology. We are seeking an Associate Director, Accounting to lead our accounting operations across multiple business units and legal entities.
You will own general ledger accounting processes for all P&L and balance sheet accounts, ensuring accounting policies are documented and training materials are maintained. Your responsibilities span Treasury, Accounts Payable, and General Ledger accounting for multiple business units across multiple legal entities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Review and prepare complex journal entries; oversee GL entries prepared by accounting managers and senior accountants
- Review AP spend and cash flow forecasts; approve AP invoices and assist with cash management (ACH/wire submissions)
- Review balance sheet account reconciliations across multiple business units (payroll liabilities, ROU assets, fixed assets, intercompany reconciliations, insurance, prepaids)
- Finalize corporate SGA budgets and forecasts on a consolidated basis; determine allocation methods to business units and provide actual-to-budget analysis
- Train and mentor accounting staff; ensure process documentation for accounting thresholds and new GAAP standards; conduct bi-annual team training sessions
- Identify process improvements and integrate new business acquisitions
- Monitor emerging US GAAP standards and practices impacting operations and reporting
- Establish internal controls to minimize payment errors, duplicate payments, and fraud
- Review vendor and customer spend; assess vendor consolidation opportunities
- Review customer contracts for consistent revenue recognition (ASC 606) application
- Manage audit support and external auditor coordination; prepare complex audit schedules
- Ensure compliance with local statutory accounting and reporting requirements
This role requires strong technical accounting expertise, leadership capability, and the ability to manage complex, multi-entity accounting operations.
