Salary: USD 164,000 - 205,000 / annual

The company has raised $270+ million (Series D in December 2025) and serves thousands of fleets, doubling written premiums year-over-year with a data moat of 30+ billion miles of telematics data.
As Associate, Corporate Development, you will report to the Head of Corporate Development and be a core member of the newly formed Corporate Development team. This is a high-visibility role supporting M&A, strategic investments, and partnerships across the insurance value chain. You will work closely with Strategic Finance, Insurance, and Claims leadership, with your work directly informing executive and board-level decisions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building and maintaining financial models to evaluate acquisitions, investments, and strategic partnerships, including valuation, returns, and scenario analysis
- Supporting due diligence processes across financial, commercial, and operational workstreams, coordinating with internal teams and outside advisors
- Tracking the deal pipeline and sourcing initiatives, including market mapping and target screening across the MGA, claims, and data sectors
- Preparing materials and analysis for executive and board-level discussions, including investment memos and transaction summaries
- Supporting deal execution from initial evaluation through closing, managing timelines, diligence requests, and integration planning
This role offers hands-on deal experience at a fast-growing company with the opportunity to take on increasing ownership as the function scales. The leadership team includes veterans from Samsara, Rubrik, Flexport, and major insurance carriers.
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience in investment banking, private equity, corporate development, or related field
- Strong financial modeling and analytical skills with experience evaluating complex transaction opportunities
- Familiarity with financial services or FinTech (insurance or InsureTech experience is a bonus)
- Ability to turn complex analysis into clear, concise materials for senior audiences
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, comfortable managing multiple workstreams simultaneously
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Self-starter who independently seeks learning opportunities
- Bias-to-action mentality; comfortable getting hands dirty and stretching yourself
- Owner mentality with accountability for actions and results
- Ability to thrive in high-growth, ambiguous startup environments
- Must be able to work full-time in San Francisco office
