Salary: USD 66,800 - 66,800 / annual
The Associate, Business Operations & Systems, Events role supports the Events team at People Inc. (parent company of Liquor.com) by improving processes and systems that enable efficient event execution across a portfolio including the Food & Wine Classic in Aspen, Food & Wine Classic in Charleston, and other Food-branded experiences.
Key responsibilities span four areas:
**Business Operations & Process Improvement (25%):** Assess and prioritize improvements to the Events systems roadmap based on business impact. Evaluate existing workflows and recommend practical simplifications. Pilot solutions within individual events and scale them across the portfolio.
**Systems Development & Airtable (25%):** Develop Airtable as a core operational platform for event planning, programming, budgets, invoicing, sponsorships, and customer service. Consolidate or redesign spreadsheets, documents, and manual processes. Support interfaces, dashboards, views, and reporting to improve visibility and decision-making.
**Project & Roadmap Management (25%):** Support systems and process improvement projects from discovery through implementation. Coordinate feedback, dependencies, and timelines across teams. Communicate progress and risks to Events leadership. Measure impact of solutions and identify further improvements.
**Cross-Functional Partnership & Adoption (15%):** Gather feedback from teams and translate into system requirements. Support testing, rollout, documentation, and training. Monitor adoption and establish ownership to keep systems accurate and useful.
**Automation, AI & Reporting (10%):** Identify opportunities for automation, AI, reporting, and alerts. Translate business needs into clear use cases for technical partners. Stay current on tools that could improve team workflows.
The role reports to the Sr. Director of Events. Hybrid arrangement: three days per week in New York office, up to two days remote. Approximately 10% travel required.
**Requirements:**
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- 2+ years of experience in event operations, business operations, process improvement, program management, or related field
- Experience supporting live events, media, hospitality, production, or similar environments with complex workflows and competing deadlines
- Experience partnering with technical or systems teams to translate business needs into workflows, test solutions, and support implementation
- Preferred: experience improving processes across multiple teams or events, developing dashboards or reporting, moving teams from manual trackers to structured systems, familiarity with Airtable, Excel, databases, interfaces, automations, integrations, workflow automation, and AI-enabled business tools
- Strong project management, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to evaluate workflows, identify practical improvements, and coordinate across teams with different priorities and technical expertise
- Attention to detail and ability to adapt solutions as business needs evolve
