Moody's is seeking an Assistant Director–Experience Designer to lead the design and prototyping of insurance analytics products. This role sits at the intersection of design and engineering, requiring someone who can translate complex risk and insurance data into intuitive, interactive experiences.
You will own end-to-end experience design from concept through coded prototyping, testing, and iteration. Key responsibilities include designing and delivering functional, coded prototypes for insurance analytics platforms; translating complex workflows and datasets into intuitive dashboards and data visualizations; designing GenAI-powered features such as natural language queries, smart summaries, and embedded assistants; conducting user research and usability testing to validate designs; and collaborating with product managers and engineers to ensure feasibility and performance.
You will also contribute to and evolve Moody's design system, ensuring alignment with engineering libraries and accessibility standards, and champion AI-assisted design-to-code workflows to accelerate decision-making and reduce delivery risk.
The ideal candidate brings 3–5 years of professional UX/UI design experience focused on complex enterprise, B2B, or data-intensive platforms, plus 1–3 years of front-end development experience. You should have advanced English communication skills, proven ability to build functional prototypes (ideally using Cursor), and expertise in automating design-to-code workflows with AI tools like Figma Dev Mode, GitHub Copilot, and Cursor. Strong knowledge of front-end technologies, component-based systems, and demonstrated leadership in evolving scalable design systems is essential. You should also have hands-on experience with AI tools and a growing awareness of AI risk management and responsible AI use.
A bachelor's degree in Design, HCI, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience is required. This is a prototype-first, AI-first role within Moody's Insurance Business Unit, where the design function is being reinvented to move beyond static deliverables to functional, working prototypes that accelerate collaboration and ensure designs are validated in realistic environments from day one.
