Tempus is a precision medicine platform that uses AI to deliver real-time, actionable clinical insights to physicians. The Area Director, Enterprise Solutions is a strategic sales leadership role responsible for driving adoption of Tempus's precision medicine suite—Treatment Selection, MRD (Minimal Residual Disease), and Hereditary Cancer Testing—across the West region.
This is a player-coach position where you will lead a team of 2–4 Enterprise Solutions Directors while personally managing 1–2 top growth accounts. You will be accountable for embedding Tempus solutions into clinical workflows, ensuring deep technical connectivity, and sustaining physician engagement across complex health system structures.
Key responsibilities include:
**Strategic Leadership & Team Development:** Recruit and develop a team of Enterprise Solutions Directors, using field ride-alongs to sharpen their ability to sell to Oncology, Pathology, and Surgical leadership. Develop regional territory plans focused on high-volume health systems and large clinical groups, shifting the team from transactional to consultative "clinical ecosystem" partnerships. Train the team to drive connectivity conversations, positioning EHR integration as the primary driver for clinical efficiency.
**Top-Down Strategy & Account Governance:** Execute regional strategies for standardized adoption of diagnostics across all three testing areas. Drive mandatory quarterly Executive Steering Committee meetings with health system leadership and key clinical decision-makers to review clinical volume progress, align on long-term precision medicine strategy, and identify risks and opportunities. Support cultivation of Key Opinion Leader (KOL) relationships to advocate for integration of testing into institutional clinical pathways.
**Operational Excellence:** Track ESD performance across regional sites, monitor site-level utilization data to identify high-potential providers, audit EHR integration health, and provide senior leadership with visibility into site-level metrics including test-mix parity, engagement depth, and volume.
**Cross-Functional Collaboration:** Partner with sales leaders across verticals to identify overarching account strategies and act as the primary escalation point to unblock barriers to team success.
Travel requirement: up to 50% within the designated region.
