Base Power is rebuilding America's electrical grid through distributed battery networks and infrastructure. The Architectural Designer role is a senior individual contributor position within the Infrastructure & Development team, responsible for designing and delivering complex capital projects including advanced battery manufacturing plants, regional hubs, and corporate facilities.
You will own the full design lifecycle—from concept through construction administration—working with general direction and minimal supervision. Key responsibilities include producing high-quality presentation drawings, 3D BIM models, and detailed construction documentation; leading multi-disciplinary coordination across MEPFP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection) systems; ensuring compliance with building codes and life safety standards; researching materials and construction methods; and supporting construction administration including submittal review and field coordination.
The role demands a self-motivated professional who balances independent execution with active collaboration across engineering, operations, and creative teams. You will work at a fast pace to scale physical infrastructure, with projects varying significantly in size and scope.
Required qualifications: 3–5 years of commercial and technical design experience; NCARB-accredited architecture degree; advanced proficiency in Revit, Enscape, Bluebeam, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office. Preferred: active architectural licensure or progress toward licensure; direct experience with corporate headquarters or flagship campus projects; deep knowledge of BIM workflows and MEPFP coordination; familiarity with AI image generation tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini) for rapid visual concepts.
Base operates in-person with a startup culture emphasizing first-principles thinking, rapid decision-making, ownership, and mission-driven intensity. The role may expand based on business needs.
