TurbineOne is a venture-backed defense technology startup focused on military intelligence automation and situational awareness. The company delivers AI-powered perception systems that enhance decision-making for intelligence and security professionals worldwide.
This Applied Research Software Engineer role reports directly to the Chief Technology Officer and is part of a small, fully remote, high-performance team. You will be responsible for building product experiences on TurbineOne's AI and networking platforms, collaborating closely with Design and Product Management on feature design, delivery schedules, and technical trade-offs.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing product experiences leveraging the T1 AI and Networking platforms for global intelligence and security users
- Collaborating with Design and Product teams on feature design and strategic decisions
- Acting as a product owner—actively shaping the direction of code and features rather than executing assigned tickets
- Building and innovating on the front-end architecture and design system (Vue 3 client, Golang server, MongoDB storage)
You should bring 8+ years of experience in product engineering or front-end client development, with expertise in reactive frameworks (Vue, React, Unity, etc.), API design (REST and GraphQL), and the ability to navigate ambiguity and work cross-functionally. Experience with technical design reviews and thoughtful architectural decision-making is valued.
The role requires comfort with startup dynamics: autonomy, rapid change, shared responsibility, and the grit to build in an uncertain environment. You must be eligible to obtain a U.S. government security clearance.
