Salary: GBP 165,000 - 190,000 / annual

Anthropic's Beneficial Deployments team is seeking an Applied AI Architect to drive the adoption and impact of Claude in the life sciences ecosystem. This is a founding role on a new team focused on accelerating scientific progress from R&D through translation by partnering with leading research institutions like HHMI and The Allen Institute. You will serve as the primary technical advisor to life sciences partners, guiding them through their Claude adoption journey. Your responsibilities include understanding scientific workflows end-to-end and translating them into impactful AI solutions, transforming partner organizations into AI-native entities through Claude Code and Claude Science enablements, and designing cohort-based accelerators to scale expertise across multiple institutions. Key responsibilities: Act as technical advisor to research institutions and mission-driven organizations; enable partners to evolve their research and business processes for AI; design and lead cohort-based accelerators; identify deployment challenges in life sciences and feed insights back to product and engineering teams; spot patterns across partners to inform ecosystem-level tools (MCP servers, benchmarks, agent skills); create technical presentations, demos, and scalable content; travel occasionally for workshops and relationship building; help shape team culture as the group scales. You bring 8+ years in a technical customer-facing role (Solutions Architect, Customer Engineer, Sales Engineer, Technical Account Manager, Product Engineer, or Forward Deployed Engineer). Ideally, you have direct experience in life sciences, biomedical research, or scientific computing—particularly genomics, neuroscience, or drug discovery. You understand the unique challenges of academic research institutions, biotech, and pharma organizations. You're familiar with LLM implementation patterns including prompt engineering, evaluation frameworks, agent architectures, and retrieval systems. You love teaching and mentoring, have a scrappy mentality, and are driven by mission-oriented work.
