Deepgram is building the leading platform for the Voice AI economy, providing real-time APIs for speech-to-text, text-to-speech, and voice agents at scale. The company has processed over 50,000 years of audio and serves 200,000+ developers and 1,300+ organizations including Twilio, Cloudflare, and Jack in the Box.
You will own Deepgram's full invoice-to-pay function as the finance team scales from the ground up. This is a build-first role where you'll manage an outsourced contractor on invoice preparation, partner with a second approver on payments, and grow your scope and team over time.
Key responsibilities include: building and owning the complete invoice-to-pay cycle (intake, coding, approvals, payment); automating the cycle toward touchless processing using AI-driven ingestion, coding, and duplicate detection; owning month-end AP close including accruals, cutoff, subledger-to-GL tie-out, and aging; establishing AP analytics that transform how the function operates; preparing AP for the company's first external audit; leading AP setup and migration through an ERP implementation; and managing the Ramp card program, vendor/tax compliance (W-9/W-8, 1099s), and AP sales/use tax.
You should take ownership of functions rather than waiting for direction, work AI-native with demonstrated ability to build AP workflows others adopt, turn repetitive work into reusable tools (scripts, rule sets, checklists), review others' work sharply while catching errors, think in terms of controls and audit evidence (three-way match, exceptions, documentation), and evaluate ERPs on merit rather than defaulting to established names.
Ideal candidates have owned AP close and controls in an audited environment, set up or migrated AP in a modern ERP, built AI-assisted finance workflows adopted by teams, and typically have 5–8 years in AP/accounting operations or equivalent experience. The role requires comfort with rapid change, AI-first thinking, and continuous learning in a fast-moving environment.
