You will join the Engineering team as an experienced Android Mobile Software Engineer responsible for the mobile app—the primary interface between Eight Sleep members and the product. The app enables users to control, configure, and gain insights from their sleep data. You will work closely with backend engineers, firmware teams, ML specialists, R&D, Growth, Hardware, and executive leadership (CEO, CPO, VPs) to ship high-quality features.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and shipping pixel-perfect native Android features with beautiful animations
- Conducting code reviews and ensuring code quality standards
- Optimizing app performance to enhance member experience
- Building scalable, testable, enterprise-grade applications
- Working efficiently in a rapid-paced environment while maintaining stability
Required qualifications:
- 6+ years shipping high-quality features for native Android apps
- Fluent proficiency in Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Coroutines, Flow, MVVM, and MVI patterns
- Experience building scalable, testable enterprise-grade apps
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments with focus on stability
Bonus experience includes custom UI component development in Compose, software for hardware products (especially health/medical), and health-related app/peripheral integration.
