Salary: GBP 66,000 - 76,000 / annual
Affirm is reinventing credit to make it more honest and friendly, offering buy-now-pay-later solutions without hidden fees or compounding interest. As an Analyst II in Credit (Merchant Risk), you will assess financial, fraud, and identity risk associated with merchants while coordinating with cross-functional partners to evaluate brand, reputational, legal, and compliance risk.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assess brand, compliance, fraud, and financial risk to determine credit exposure on new and existing merchants
- Use business credit reports, financial documents, investigative research tools, and financial market data to conduct merchant risk assessments
- Investigate and integrate new third-party data sources to evaluate merchant financial risk
- Conduct ongoing monitoring of credit, fraud, and dispute/chargeback trends by merchant
- Provide guidance on automation and improvements to merchant risk evaluation processes
You will bring 3+ years of experience in merchant risk assessment, seller risk management, fraud, collections, or merchant underwriting. You have solid understanding of evaluating merchant financial risk based on third-party data, credit reports, and merchant attributes. Prior experience in payments, lending, banking, or financial institutions is valued. You are comfortable working cross-functionally with Sales and Business Development teams, reviewing financial documents and business credit reports, and demonstrate strong ownership mentality with accountability and execution focus.
Affirm is remote-first; this role is fully remote within the UK. Compensation includes base pay of £66,000–£76,000 annually, equity (Grade 3), health/wellness/tech stipends, 100% subsidized medical/dental/vision coverage, flexible time off, and an employee stock purchase plan.
