Shift Technology is seeking an FP&A Analyst to join its finance team as the company scales. Reporting to the Head of Financial Planning and Analysis and working closely with the CFO, you'll gain hands-on exposure to financial operations at a growing SaaS scale-up.
Key responsibilities include supporting financial analysis, reporting, and ad hoc projects that inform business decisions; maintaining and improving financial models, dashboards, and internal reports; organizing and analyzing large or imperfect datasets in Excel and Google Sheets using formulas, pivot tables, and lookups; exploring how AI tools can complement traditional financial analysis; assisting with core FP&A and accounting tasks; preparing executive-ready presentations and reports in Google Slides and Docs; contributing to process improvements across finance, accounting, and operations; and conducting research and benchmarking to support strategic decisions.
You'll need an undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Analytics, Economics, or Business, plus 2–3 years of experience in a similar role within a SaaS or subscription-based technology company. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets is essential, including comfort with formulas, pivot tables, and lookups. You should be detail-oriented, analytical, growth-minded, self-starting, collaborative, and adaptable. Curiosity about how AI can enhance traditional analysis is valued. The role is based in the Boston area and is hybrid to enable direct collaboration with the CEO and CFO, both based there. Candidates should be based in or near Boston and genuinely interested in SaaS, technology, startups, or subscription business models.
