Clipboard Health is a Y Combinator-backed, profitable marketplace platform connecting healthcare professionals with facilities across the U.S. Founded in 2016, the company has grown to over 1,000 employees and leads the long-term care staffing space while expanding into home health, hospitals, and adjacent markets.
You will own and scale Clipboard's internal automation and AI tooling portfolio as a senior individual contributor with program-level ownership. This role bridges operations and engineering, requiring you to define quarterly roadmaps anchored to measurable efficiency outcomes, translate ambiguous operational problems into scalable systems-level solutions, and drive end-to-end delivery across discovery, scoping, build, and launch phases while managing multiple concurrent initiatives.
Key responsibilities include: defining and owning the AI/automation tooling roadmap tied to agent efficiency targets; breaking down complex operational challenges into systems-level solutions; driving cross-functional delivery while keeping initiatives on track; setting and maintaining high execution standards through detail-oriented problem-solving and continuous improvement; and navigating dynamics across Operations, Engineering, and Product teams to proactively identify and resolve friction.
You should excel at technical portfolio thinking—designing systems-level solutions from first principles, thinking in workflows and dependencies rather than isolated features. Execution discipline is critical: you have a clear model for excellent project delivery from discovery through launch, knowing when to stay high-level and when to dive deep, catching issues before they become blockers. Strong stakeholder influence across functions is essential—you communicate directly and effectively, identify misalignment early, and resolve cross-functional challenges without unnecessary escalation.
The role offers a clear path toward people management within 6–12 months based on performance. Progression is driven by demonstrating strong delivery velocity, taking end-to-end ownership of the roadmap, and showing the ability to develop and hold junior team members accountable.
Nice-to-have qualifications include experience building or scaling internal tooling in high-growth environments, familiarity with AI-driven automation applied to operational workflows, and background in Operations, Support, or Customer Experience with deep understanding of user needs and pain points.
