Onebrief builds collaboration and AI-powered workflow software for military planning and operational coordination. The company helps military teams coordinate information, people, and decisions across systems and locations, combining planning, collaboration, simulation, and AI into a connected environment.
As Senior AI Product Designer, you will independently own the user experience for a product area, partnering with Product to translate user goals into interface elements and behavior. You'll be responsible for defining what users need, how they interact with Onebrief, and making quality-vs-speed trade-offs that keep releases moving.
Key responsibilities include: owning UX definition for your product area end-to-end; acting as the arbiter of quality versus speed for your scope; building deep expertise in how military planners actually work through direct user research and workflow mapping; owning pattern decisions and contributing to Onebrief's design language; evaluating and deliberately applying emerging AI UX patterns; combining traditional design foundations with AI-native workflows across varying fidelities; and documenting design intent for both human collaborators and agentic tools.
You'll need a track record of independently owning UX definition for product areas or workflows from understanding user needs through shipped decisions. Your craft should demonstrate expertise in foundational UX/UI concepts with concrete examples of articulating trade-offs that moved teams forward. You must have experience building user expertise firsthand through direct research and workflow mapping, and have led implementation of at least one major AI-based workflow in a SaaS application. You should demonstrate knowledge of emerging AI UX patterns and a clear process for evaluating when and how to apply them. Advanced proficiency with AI design tools and intermediate-level knowledge of how foundational models work is required.
Preferred qualifications include contributing to design system decisions beyond your own project, solid grasp of accessibility and interaction design fundamentals, active participation in the design systems community, and a track record of advancing your team's workflows with AI tools and practices.
Within six months, success looks like independently owning UX definition and trade-off decisions with minimal oversight, shipping work that uses AI meaningfully as an accelerant, documenting user expertise that others use for decisions, contributing to Onebrief's design language, and being a trusted partner to Product and Engineering.
