Tread is an AI-native vertical SaaS platform transforming construction materials logistics. The company has crossed $2B in monthly delivered load value and is growing rapidly from Series A backing (Mucker Capital).
This role owns the entire finance operations function for a company deliberately building a lean, AI-driven finance practice. You will build and maintain the operating model, budget, and rolling forecast that leadership uses to run the business. Key responsibilities span three pillars:
Strategic Finance & FP&A: Own unit economics critical to vertical SaaS (ARR, NRR, CAC, payback, gross margin, magic number, burn multiple). Build decision-support models for pricing changes, segment expansion, hiring plans, and major deals. Turn ambiguous questions into quantified recommendations.
Fundraising & Investor Relations: Build board decks, data rooms, and reporting packages. Partner with the CEO on the next fundraise—modeling, narrative, diligence, and financial operations. Own cash-flow forecasting, runway, and scenario planning.
Business & Revenue Operations: Connect quote-to-cash workflows. Ensure ARR is live, reconciled, and trustworthy. Run operating cadence (KPI dashboards, weekly business reviews, metrics definitions). Partner with GTM on compensation plans and pipeline math; with product/ops on cost and margin.
AI-Native Systems & Automation: Design the finance and ops stack to run lean using Claude, ChatGPT, and modern automation tools for reconciliations, variance narratives, data cleanup, and reporting. Own tooling integration (billing, ERP, CRM, dashboards). Establish how a modern, AI-first finance function operates at Tread.
You'll sit next to the founders from day one, owning the full scope a banker or investor typically only sees from across the table. This is a launchpad role that becomes Head of Finance, VP Finance, or Head of BizOps as the company scales.
