Adyen is a global financial technology platform providing payments, data, and financial products for enterprise customers including Meta, Uber, H&M, and Microsoft.
You will join the Documentation Tooling Team within the Developer Experience group, responsible for building the systems and foundations that improve how technical knowledge is created, structured, and delivered across Adyen's developer ecosystem. This is a strategic initiative to transform static documentation into structured, queryable knowledge that powers reliable, contextual, and efficient access to information for customers, developers, AI agents, and internal teams.
Core responsibilities include:
• Design and implement scalable graph schemas, ontologies, and metadata models that support consistency, reuse, and discoverability across documentation.
• Own, configure, and optimize robust AWS serverless pipelines (Step Functions, Lambda) to ingest and process documentation from distributed sources including headless CMS and Git repositories.
• Design structured knowledge representations using graph databases that allow information to be connected, navigated, and queried programmatically.
• Build high-performance retrieval APIs optimized for developer environments and AI agents, including GraphRAG patterns and vector embedding integration.
• Implement automated controls and validation rules to detect documentation drift and ensure long-term integrity of the knowledge platform.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with technical writers, product managers, engineering teams, and cloud infrastructure teams to ensure secure, resilient deployments.
• Contribute to engineering excellence through code reviews and mentoring, fostering a culture of technical excellence.
The role is based in Amsterdam with an office-first culture emphasizing in-person collaboration.
Requirements:
• Deep production experience with Python and proficiency in designing serverless orchestrations using AWS Step Functions and AWS Lambda.
• Experienced with graph databases, specifically Neo4j and Cypher query language, with understanding of building and evolving data ontologies.
• Experience building robust content-ingestion or ETL pipelines to extract and transform unstructured content (Git, Headless CMS) into graph databases.
• Experience designing performant APIs for complex retrieval; knowledge of GraphRAG patterns or vector embedding integration (e.g., Amazon Bedrock) is a strong plus.
• Solid grasp of Infrastructure-as-Code (Pulumi) to manage serverless pipelines and ability to collaborate with cloud platform teams managing container workloads (Amazon EKS/Kubernetes).
• Excellent communication skills, able to translate strategy into technical initiatives and represent technical viewpoints to both engineering and writing audiences.
