Sound Agriculture is a Series D agtech startup revolutionizing sustainable agriculture through innovative biological solutions. The company has impacted over 1 million hectares in the US and is now scaling its TRIGGER technology—a plant-based polyflavonoid product that enhances nutrient efficiency and soil health—across Brazil and Argentina.
As Market Development Agronomist, you will be the technical reference for Sound Agriculture in southern Brazil (Paraná, Mato Grosso do Sul) and Argentina, based in Cascavel, PR. This is a field-driven role combining technical expertise with commercial impact, though you do not sell directly.
Your responsibilities span two main areas:
**Field & Market (70%):** Serve as the technical authority with producers, large agricultural groups, consultancies, and distributors. Conduct field trials and demonstration areas from planting through harvest, ensuring data integrity. Map needs and gaps from the commercial team, representatives, and clients, proposing new protocols or adjustments. Coordinate demonstration areas established by the commercial team and representatives, visiting sites and ensuring proper execution. Build and maintain relationships with research partners and consultancies conducting trials. Train and support commercial representatives and resellers to position Sound's portfolio with regional data, case studies, and agronomic arguments. Accompany the commercial team on producer visits, negotiations, and events as technical reference. Organize and conduct field days, technical visits, training sessions, and workshops. Follow up with clients and partners during the season and conduct end-of-cycle analysis to ensure retention and product expansion.
**Data & Positioning (30%):** Systematically collect, organize, and consolidate regional field data, analyzing it with applied statistics and clear visualizations to support decisions. Transform results into positioning: identify where products perform best, where they should not be positioned, and how to communicate this to different audiences. Produce end-of-season reports, presentations, and technical materials for the commercial team, channel partners, and leadership. Provide regional market insights (management practices, competition, opportunities) to inform protocols, portfolio, and marketing plans. Support technical content production, including social media, translating science into field language. Maintain activities, trials, and contacts in company systems.
You are part of a two-person agronomist team (one in the Cerrado region, one in the South and Argentina). While each has a defined region, coverage adjusts with seasonal priorities, and you support each other during peak demand. In a startup environment, scope extends beyond the job title—you will participate across field, commercial, and strategic initiatives.
Travel is approximately 70% of the time, with frequent overnight stays and occasional international trips. You will reside in the role's region.
