Sound Agriculture is a Series D agtech startup revolutionizing sustainable agriculture through plant biology and microbial science. The company has impacted over 1 million hectares in the US and is now launching TRIGGER—a plant-based polyflavonoid technology—in Brazil. TRIGGER improves nutrient efficiency, reduces environmental impact, and enhances soil health. After four seasons of validated field results and a successful first commercial year, Sound is scaling operations across Brazil. As Market Development Agronomist for the Cerrado region (Mato Grosso and Goiás), you will be Sound's technical reference in your territory. You are the expert on local farming practices, conduct field trials, prepare commercial channels and sales representatives, and transform field results into farmer adoption and trust. You do not sell directly, but your work has direct commercial impact—you provide the sales team, representatives, and resellers with data and technical arguments to position Sound's products effectively. Your responsibilities span two main areas: **Field & Market (~70%):** Serve as the technical authority for Sound with producers, large agricultural groups, consultancies, and resellers. Conduct field trials and demonstration areas from planting to harvest, ensuring data integrity. Map the needs of the commercial team, representatives, and clients, proposing new protocols or adjustments. Coordinate demonstration areas established by the sales team and representatives, visiting sites and ensuring proper execution. Build and maintain close relationships with consultancies and research partners conducting trials. Train and support commercial representatives and resellers to position Sound's portfolio with regional data, case studies, and clear agronomic arguments. Accompany the sales team on producer visits, negotiations, and events as technical reference. Organize and conduct field days, technical visits, training sessions, and workshops. Follow up with clients and partners throughout the season and conduct end-of-cycle analysis to ensure retention and expanded product use. **Data & Positioning (~30%):** Systematically collect, organize, and consolidate regional field data, analyzing it with applied statistics and clear visualizations to support decision-making. Transform results into positioning: identify where products perform best, where they should not be positioned, and how to communicate this to different audiences. Produce end-of-season reports, presentations, and technical materials for the sales team, channel partners, and leadership. Provide regional market insights (farming practices, competition, opportunities) to inform protocols, portfolio, and marketing plans. Support technical content production, including social media, translating science into field language. Maintain records of activities, trials, and contacts in company systems. You are part of a two-person agronomist team (one in Cerrado, one in South Brazil/Argentina), each with regional responsibility but supporting each other during peak demand. In a startup environment, your scope extends beyond the job description—you will participate across field, commercial, and strategic initiatives, learning how to scale an innovative business. **Requirements:** - Degree in Agronomy - 5+ years in market development, applied agronomy, or agronomic consulting - Solid knowledge of soy and corn (plant physiology, nutrition, soil dynamics, biologics) and the biostimulant, biological, and soil health ecosystem - Experience conducting field trials with consultancies and research institutions, transforming results into technical-commercial positioning - Strong analytical capability: organizing databases, applying statistics, creating graphs that tell the story of results - Fluent use of AI tools daily for data analysis, presentation building, and productivity - Experience training commercial teams, representatives, and distribution channels - Executor profile: goes to the field, solves problems, doesn't wait for ready-made structure - Comfort with uncertainty, frequent changes, and intense startup pace - Team spirit: helps others, shares knowledge, supports colleagues during high-demand periods - Clear communication and ability to build trust from field technicians to leadership of large groups - Familiarity with digital tools and CRM - Availability to travel ~70% of the time with frequent overnight stays and residence in the role's region - Category B driver's license **Preferred qualifications:** - Graduate degree in plant physiology, plant nutrition, or related fields - Network with regional consultancies, resellers, and producers - Experience with biologics, agtech, or launching new product categories - Cotton knowledge - Intermediate or advanced English
