Salary: USD 146,000 - 194,000 / annual
Anduril Industries is seeking an Aerodynamics Engineer to join the Air Dominance and Strike Aerodynamics Engineering Team, responsible for advanced aerodynamic design and analysis of Group 5 hypersonic air vehicles and missile platforms. You will own the full development lifecycle from conceptual design through flight test planning, execution, and analysis, ensuring high-performance, resilient, and scalable systems for contested military environments.
Key responsibilities include: aerodynamic design of unmanned air vehicles and missiles across conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design phases; aerodynamic analysis using low and high-order methods with tool development as needed; stability and control analysis; trajectory optimization for performance analysis and vehicle trades; aerothermodynamic analysis in high-speed environments; aircraft performance modeling and simulation; aerodynamic loads generation; and wind tunnel and flight test planning, execution, and analysis.
Required qualifications: BS or higher in Aerospace Engineering; experience with diverse aerodynamic analysis techniques including hand calculations, lower-order codes, and CFD; strong programming skills in MATLAB, Python, or similar languages for tool development in version-controlled environments; experience preparing formal technical documentation; ability to obtain and hold a U.S. Top Secret security clearance.
Preferred qualifications include: StarCCM+ experience; supersonic or hypersonic flow regime analysis; aerothermal analysis; trajectory optimization software; high-speed aerodynamic simulation techniques (laminar, transitional, turbulent); chemical kinetics and combustion CFD modeling; active U.S. Secret security clearance.
