The Accounts Payable Manager will lead Mariana Minerals' AP operations and build a scalable, technology-enabled procure-to-pay function. This role ensures timely and accurate processing of supplier invoices across multiple legal entities, maintains compliance with company policies and internal controls, and leads a high-performing AP team.
Key responsibilities include supervising daily invoice processing, performing three-way matching of purchase orders, goods receipts, and invoices, and reviewing invoice coding for accuracy across GL accounts, departments, projects, and entities. The manager will coordinate weekly payment proposals with Treasury, manage vendor relationships as the primary escalation point for inquiries and disputes, and oversee vendor onboarding documentation including W-9/W-8 forms, banking information, and tax compliance.
The role requires establishing and monitoring performance expectations for AP staff, conducting regular reviews, developing cross-training plans, and promoting a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. The manager will identify automation opportunities, support implementation of AP automation tools and OCR technologies, develop standard operating procedures, and ensure compliance with internal controls and segregation of duties.
Reporting responsibilities include tracking key AP metrics such as invoice processing cycle time, backlog, percentage of PO-supported invoices, outstanding approval aging, vendor aging, and non-PO invoice volume. The manager will provide regular reporting and recommendations to Finance leadership.
The ideal candidate combines strong operational accounting experience with a continuous-improvement mindset and enjoys building efficient processes leveraging automation. This position works closely with Procurement, Operations, Accounting, Treasury, FP&A, and business leaders across multiple operating locations.
