Wildlife Studios is seeking an Accounting Specialist to join its Controllership team and own the monthly financial close for multiple entities. You will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and continuous improvement of the company's financial reporting.
In this role, you will coordinate the monthly close end-to-end: keeping timelines on track, aligning stakeholders, and flagging risks early. You will be responsible for ensuring that accounting information accurately reflects the business and supports decision-making at the group level.
Key responsibilities include:
- Own and coordinate the monthly financial close for multiple entities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and quality. Anticipate blockers, raise risks early, and balance competing timelines.
- Oversee the preparation and review of balance sheet reconciliations, investigate variances and unusual transactions, and connect findings to business impact.
- Assist in drafting and maintaining accounting policies, technical memos, and procedures (US GAAP/IFRS).
- Partner with Tax, FP&A, Treasury, and Business teams to ensure proper accounting treatment of complex transactions and reach alignment when priorities diverge.
- Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities in the closing cycle.
- Analyze financial data using key metrics and dashboards to evaluate results and connect accounting outcomes to business impact.
- Understand and analyze the impact of local accounting entries on group consolidation, including intercompany transactions, eliminations, FX effects, and CTA.
- Communicate proactively: share progress, surface blockers early, and adjust communication to different audiences (technical peers, FP&A, leadership, auditors).
You will work closely with Tax, FP&A, Treasury, and other Finance and Operations teams. This role requires strong ownership, sound judgment to navigate trade-offs between accuracy, timelines, and business needs, and the ability to align stakeholders when priorities compete. You will also help improve, automate, and scale accounting processes to shorten closing timelines and strengthen controls.
