As Accounting Manager for Fanatics Markets & Emerging Businesses, you will lead day-to-day accounting operations for the company's prediction markets platform and other emerging business lines. This hands-on role sits at the intersection of accounting, financial markets, and regulatory compliance.
You will own the month-end close process across multiple legal entities, preparing and reviewing financial statements to ensure completeness and accuracy in a fast-moving, regulated environment. Key responsibilities include managing journal entries, accruals, balance sheet reconciliations, and general ledger analyses; preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements under US GAAP and IFRS; and owning the regulatory reporting calendar for filings with the NFA, CFTC, and other governing bodies.
You will serve as a critical connector across the organization, partnering with Finance on budgets and forecasts, collaborating with Shared Services and Technical Accounting on complex transactions, and working closely with business stakeholders to ensure new developments are properly reflected in financial reporting. Additional responsibilities include supporting external audits, assisting with statutory reporting and tax compliance, maintaining and strengthening internal controls (including SOX), and identifying process improvements to support accuracy, efficiency, and scale.
The role offers the opportunity to build deep expertise in a specialized domain while contributing to a growing team. You will also support and develop team members, helping build a high-performing accounting function.
Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; 6+ years of progressive accounting experience with demonstrated ownership of close processes and financial statement preparation; strong foundation in US GAAP. Strongly preferred: CPA or equivalent; experience in financial markets, trading environments, or regulated industries (broker-dealer, exchange, commodities, gaming); familiarity with NFA/CFTC regulations; advanced Excel and data analysis skills; experience with financial systems and ERP platforms. You should have strong attention to detail, ability to manage competing deadlines across multiple entities, and excellent communication skills across finance, accounting, and business teams.
