Seasats, a venture-backed maritime robotics company, is seeking an Accounting Manager to build and lead financial infrastructure as the company scales. Reporting to the CFO, you'll own core accounting operations including month-end close, general ledger management, accounts payable/receivable, cash reconciliations, and fixed assets. The role involves strengthening internal controls, improving financial reporting quality, and supporting manufacturing and government-contract accounting processes as Seasats grows its operations globally.
Key responsibilities include preparing and reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements; overseeing accounting operations and audit support; developing accounting procedures appropriate for a rapidly scaling organization; supporting inventory and cost accounting for production operations; managing government-contract compliance requirements; and participating in ERP implementation and system improvements. You'll identify automation opportunities, help build the accounting team, and support budgeting and cash forecasting for leadership.
You bring 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with background in operating-company accounting, public accounting, or fractional/outsourced roles. Ideal candidates have experience in defense, aerospace, government contracting, or related industries; have worked in organizations subject to external audits; and have owned or significantly contributed to month-end close processes. You're detail-oriented, can operate effectively in evolving environments, work independently to solve unfamiliar accounting issues, and communicate clearly with executives and cross-functional teams.
Bonus qualifications include CPA certification or candidacy, public accounting background, ERP implementation experience, manufacturing/inventory/cost-accounting expertise, venture-backed or high-growth company experience, and familiarity with FAR, DFARS, DCAA, or government contract accounting compliance.
The role offers a clear growth path toward Controller as the company matures. Compensation includes $120,000–$160,000 annually plus stock options, 401(k) matching up to 4%, competitive insurance (99% employer-covered Gold HMO available), four free lunches weekly, pet-friendly office, and unlimited/flex PTO. U.S. work authorization required; visa sponsorship unavailable.
