As Accounting Manager, you will report to the Corporate Controller and own significant portions of the monthly close and core accounting functions. This is a hands-on role that combines individual contributor work with process leadership as the company scales.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning the monthly close process: journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, variance analysis, and financial reporting
- Managing accounting for revenue, accounts receivable, payroll, commissions, operating expenses, prepaids, and fixed assets
- Reviewing contracts and business activities to identify accounting implications
- Building and improving accounting workflows in Rillet and the broader finance tech stack
- Developing processes and controls that enhance accuracy without unnecessary complexity
- Leveraging AI and automation to reduce manual work and accelerate the close
- Partnering with Strategic Finance and cross-functional teams to ensure proper transaction recording
- Supporting annual audits, tax filings, and compliance requirements
- Owning new accounting projects as the company evolves
You bring 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in a high-growth startup or SaaS environment. You have strong U.S. GAAP knowledge, hands-on monthly close experience, and expertise in revenue recognition for subscription software. You are independent, intellectually curious, and comfortable in environments where processes need to be built or improved. You have experience with AI tools and are excited about applying them to accounting operations. Clear communication and cross-functional collaboration are essential.
Bonus qualifications include Rillet experience, CPA certification, public accounting background, or a track record of automating accounting processes in scaling organizations.
