Charles IT is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead accounting operations and drive financial excellence as the company scales. This role owns the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting while maintaining a strong control environment.
Key responsibilities include managing the full accounting close cycle, reviewing journal entries and account reconciliations to maintain general ledger integrity, and preparing financial statements with supporting schedules and variance analysis for leadership. You will ensure compliance with GAAP and internal policies, serve as the primary contact for external audits, and lead a team of accounting professionals through coaching, development, and performance feedback.
You will build and improve accounting processes to support scalability and automation, oversee balance sheet accounts (cash, AR, AP, prepaid expenses, liabilities), and monitor working capital through aging reports and cash flow forecasting. Cross-functional collaboration is essential—you'll partner with FP&A, HR, Sales, and Operations on revenue recognition, payroll, benefits, and other accounting matters.
Additional responsibilities include identifying process gaps and control weaknesses, implementing improvements, supporting ERP enhancements and system integrations, and maintaining audit-ready documentation.
Required qualifications: 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with 1–2 years in a leadership or supervisory role. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred). Strong GAAP knowledge, month-end close expertise, and proven ability to lead and develop teams. Experience with auditor management, balance sheet oversight, process improvement, and accounting systems (ERP familiarity preferred). Strong analytical, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills with meticulous attention to detail.
