Bland AI is seeking an Accounting Manager to build and lead the accounting function at a Series B voice AI platform serving enterprise call centers. This is the company's first internal accounting hire, offering significant opportunity to shape processes, policies, and reporting standards.
You will own the monthly close process, partnering with external accounting providers on reconciliations and ensuring timely, accurate reporting. You'll work cross-functionally with department leaders on expense tagging, allocations, and financial reporting. A key focus is building revenue recognition processes (ASC 606) and automation for both self-serve and enterprise business lines using newly implemented tooling.
Beyond close, you'll oversee day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable, vendor management, accounting policies, sales tax compliance, and 1099 administration. You'll establish appropriate internal controls for the company's stage and ensure audit documentation is production-ready.
The ideal candidate has 4+ years of accounting experience (public accounting, senior accountant, or accounting manager roles) with hands-on ownership of month-end close and reconciliations. You must have ASC 606 revenue recognition experience and audit experience (PBC preparation, workpaper management). You're self-directed, comfortable with ambiguity, and take pride in detail-oriented work that brings order to financial operations. A CPA or progress toward certification is a plus, as is prior experience at high-growth startups.
Blend AI owns its entire voice AI stack in-house (transcription, LLM, TTS), enabling uptime guarantees and data security standards for regulated industries. The platform resolves up to 65% of inbound calls autonomously, delivering $500K–$1M+ in annual savings per percentage point of resolution for large call center operators.
