You'll be Reducto's first in-house accounting hire, reporting to the VP of Finance & Ops. This is a hands-on operational role combining traditional accounting expertise with a forward-looking approach to automation and AI integration.
Key responsibilities include: owning the monthly, quarterly, and annual close (journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, flux review); preparing financial statements and balance sheet support; managing revenue accounting for a usage-based business under ASC 606; evaluating and implementing the company's ERP system and GL migration; overseeing accounts payable, corporate spend policies, and collections support; managing payroll accounting for domestic and international contractors; supervising outsourced bookkeeping partners and external advisors (tax, audit, insurance); ensuring audit readiness and compliance; and building toward an automated close using AI to eliminate manual reconciliations and reporting work.
The role requires 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally combining Big 4 and high-growth SaaS/AI company backgrounds. You must have personally closed books, built accounting systems from scratch, and have deep US GAAP knowledge, especially ASC 606 for metered/usage-based revenue. ERP and accounting system implementation experience is essential. You should be entrepreneurial, comfortable as the only accountant in the room, and genuinely excited about applying AI to accounting workflows—not just using tools, but actually automating work. Bonus qualifications include CPA certification, first-audit experience, spreadsheet/data infrastructure strength, ERP implementation at sub-200-person companies, and multi-entity/international expansion preparation.
