As Accounting & Finance Manager, you will own day-to-day financial operations and serve as the primary finance partner to the CFO. Your responsibilities span three core areas:
Accounting Operations: Lead all accounting functions including chart of accounts management, general ledger oversight, and revenue recognition. You'll manage the month-end close process, review bookkeeper work for accuracy, and prepare financial statements and management reports for leadership and the Board. You'll oversee tax compliance across projects, manage billing and accounts receivable with direct collection follow-up when needed, handle accounts payable and employee reimbursements, and respond to investor and audit inquiries.
Planning & Analysis: Partner with the CFO on budgeting, forecasting, and budget-to-actuals analysis. Support board and investor reporting including gross margin tracking, cost structure analysis, unit economics, and scenario planning. Prepare ad hoc analyses to drive data-informed decisions across the leadership team.
Financial Operations & Infrastructure: Design and maintain internal controls, implement expense policies, and ensure audit-traceable processes. Own accounting and treasury systems, manage third-party integrations, and automate repeatable finance processes. Help design the proper Finance function for an AI-native company.
Required qualifications: 3+ years of professional accounting experience with genuine accounting foundation; experience with financial statement preparation and budget development; hardware & equipment accounting experience; superb Excel and G-sheet skills with financial modeling capability; accounting software experience (QuickBooks Online preferred); startup experience or clear appetite for early-stage pace and ambiguity; demonstrated interest in AI tools for finance.
Preferred: CPA or working toward certification; experience with spend-management platforms like Mercury or Ramp; ability to communicate financial information to non-finance audiences; hands-on experience building AI-assisted automations in finance.
