The Accounting Associate will handle day-to-day general accounting and payables functions, supporting the finance department across multiple areas. Key responsibilities include processing vendor invoices and employee expense reports through the AP workflow with GL coding and approval routing; administering the travel and expense program including corporate card reconciliation; preparing recurring journal entries with supporting documentation; performing bank reconciliations and assisting with daily cash activity; partnering with departments on inventory and receivables posting; supporting supervisors with expense inquiries and ad hoc reporting; and contributing to monthly and year-end close activities.
Additional duties include assisting with intercompany billing and reconciliation, reconciling general ledger balances monthly, supporting financial audits and J-Sox compliance with process documentation, supporting the tax team with compliance activities, identifying process improvements in AP and close functions, and maintaining the quality management system.
Required qualifications include 1–2 years of accounting experience with payables and monthly/year-end closings; proficiency in MS Excel (pivot tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP), MS Word, and automated accounting systems; exceptional analytical and organizational skills; strong attention to detail with documentation habits; ability to work in a team environment and cross-train; comfort working with diverse departments; and excellent communication skills.
Preferred qualifications include ERP accounting module experience (SAP ideal), experience with T&E and AP automation platforms (Concur or similar), and corporate card program administration experience.
