Remote is a global employment platform helping organizations recruit, pay, and manage international teams compliantly. The Finance team covers Tax, Accounting, Treasury, Strategic Finance, Investor Relations, and M&A, supporting the company's growth across multiple continents.
As an Accountant, you'll join the Finance, Tax & Accounting team reporting to the Manager of Accounting and Controls. You'll be responsible for posting transactions in SAP, closing and reconciling sub-ledgers (AP, AR, Fixed Assets, Bank, Intercompany), and recording/reconciling payroll across various countries. Key responsibilities include supporting month-end and year-end close processes, performing monthly balance sheet reconciliation, variance analysis, and ensuring compliance with local statutory requirements including VAT returns, statutory financial documents, and CIT returns.
You'll handle analysis tasks, contribute to special projects, and support statutory close and financial statement preparation. The role requires post-qualification accounting experience with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. You should have demonstrated experience with core finance systems (SAP preferred), strong GAAP knowledge, excellent attention to detail, and solid financial analysis skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, is essential. You must write and speak fluent English and demonstrate strong automation and AI capabilities with AI fluency. Experience working remotely is a plus but not required. The role is based in EMEA (Spain, Portugal region) with a fully remote structure, starting as soon as possible.
