Kinter builds AI agents for mid-market finance teams, automating repetitive, judgment-heavy close work like prepaid accounting, accruals, payroll, and reconciliation. The company is a lean, product-centric team of ~30 people backed by a16z, Bain Capital Ventures, and Y Combinator, having launched their product a few months ago.
You will be Kinter's first dedicated sales hire, responsible for building and scaling the commercial engine from the ground up. This is a founding sales role with significant autonomy and impact.
Key responsibilities:
- Identify and sell to mid-market and enterprise finance teams; educate prospects on AI-driven expense close automation and drive adoption
- Build repeatable sales processes, tooling, and playbooks from scratch, transitioning from founder-led selling to a scalable commercial motion
- Execute full-cycle sales independently: prospecting, qualification, discovery, negotiation, and closing deals across varying ACVs without management support
- Own your own pipeline through effective outbound prospecting and relationship building
- Shape early GTM strategy by working through ambiguity and building scalable processes
- Bring customer feedback and insights back to the product team to influence strategy
- Develop deep expertise in expense-side accounting close workflows and speak fluently to finance buyers on NetSuite and related stacks
You'll work directly with the demand generation and brand/design team members, rolling up your sleeves on execution and growing the team thoughtfully as results justify expansion.
Requirements:
- 7+ years of full-cycle, quota-carrying sales experience at fast-growing B2B SaaS startups
- Proven founding or early sales-hire experience: you've been the first or one of the first sales hires at an early-stage company and can speak concretely to what that required
- Demonstrated track record of hitting or exceeding quota, ideally in mid-market segments and selling into finance or accounting buyers
- Ability to run full deal cycles independently and close mid-market deals without needing a manager in the room
- Technical acumen to get fluent in a customer's finance stack quickly and speak credibly to ROI of automation
- Competitive drive, bias toward action, and energized by operating in gray zones and undefined processes
- Comfort with early-stage ambiguity; you diagnose and fix what's broken rather than waiting for handed-down processes
- Collaborative, low-ego team player willing to help build the sales function
