Code Metal is an AI-powered software engineering platform that uses formal methods to verify code correctness. The company serves defense, aerospace, and enterprise customers including the U.S. Air Force, L3Harris, RTX, and Toshiba, helping them modernize legacy systems and move prototypes to production with provably correct code.
As Account Executive for Financial Services, you will own the full sales cycle from initial engagement through contract signature and account expansion. You'll quarterback deals involving proof-of-value phases, paid integrations, and production deployments. Your responsibilities include:
- Manage the complete deal motion: lead from first conversation through technical evaluation, commercial negotiation, and signature. You are accountable for new business revenue and expansion within your accounts.
- Map organizational complexity: understand how major financial institutions are structured across business lines and divisions, each with separate budgets and priorities. Identify decision-makers, funding sources, and how to position Code Metal within existing initiatives.
- Drive expansion through trust: start with early adopters, deliver results, and build relationships that convert initial engagements into sustained account presence.
- Sell to outcomes: understand what each business line is measured against (speed to market, cost, performance, risk) and align stakeholders—engineers, business leaders, risk/security/compliance gatekeepers, and budget owners—around a unified case.
- Structure creative funding: navigate mixed deal structures (innovation labs, digital transformation budgets, business-line contracts) and build the right funding path for each account.
- Collaborate across teams: work closely with Engagement Managers, Solutions Architects, Solutions Engineers, Forward Deployed Engineers, and Technical Program Managers to ensure successful delivery and expansion signal identification.
- Maintain disciplined pipeline management: forecast accurately against goals with a long-lead sales cycle.
You'll work in a hybrid arrangement with flexibility, based in the San Francisco hub. The role requires travel to customer sites, industry events, and key stakeholder meetings as needed.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years of sales experience into, or business capture within, major U.S. banks or financial institutions, with demonstrated trusted, enduring relationships.
- Deep fluency in complex organizational dynamics and structures within financial services.
- Ability to pass standard financial-services background and regulatory screening.
- Nice-to-have: active relationships within major U.S. banks; familiarity with core banking systems, risk and compliance platforms, legacy system modernization, or developer tooling; CRM discipline and market/account research experience.
