OpenAI's Go To Market team is seeking an Account Director for Enterprise sales based in Tokyo. This role combines technical acumen, strategic vision, and partnership-building to help enterprise customers understand and deploy OpenAI's advanced AI models across their organizations.
You will manage key enterprise accounts, owning the entire sales cycle from pipeline generation through successful deployment. Working closely with researchers, engineers, and solution strategists, you'll develop comprehensive account plans aligned with customers' business priorities and growth opportunities. You'll lead complex customer transformation initiatives, partner with internal teams to build and execute sophisticated customer programs, and collaborate with business partners to expand customer value and identify new opportunities.
Key responsibilities include managing consumption revenue targets and forecasts, analyzing account metrics to provide insights to stakeholders, monitoring the competitive and industry landscape to inform product roadmap and corporate strategy, and supporting team recruitment, onboarding, and culture development. You'll work across functions including solutions, marketing, communications, business operations, finance, product management, and engineering.
Required qualifications: 7+ years selling platform-as-a-service or software-as-a-service solutions, or equivalent experience in customer business transformation. Demonstrated track record of achieving $1M+ annual revenue targets for 3+ years. Proven ability to design and execute complex deal strategies, work with C-level executives, communicate technical concepts effectively, and lead high-visibility customer events. Fluency in both Japanese and English is essential.
