The Workplace Operations Manager will own the employee experience and day-to-day operations of the DC office. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for running office operations, managing vendors and services, and developing programs that make the workplace attractive to employees. The role involves bringing structure to a fast-moving environment, anticipating employee and team needs, and building systems and standards that enable the DC workplace to scale as the company grows.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning day-to-day operations across the DC building portfolio, serving as the primary point of contact for employees, building management, and landlords
- Managing workplace services end-to-end, including snack and beverage programs, office supplies, lunch services, mail and deliveries, and on-site amenities
- Sourcing, onboarding, and managing workplace vendors, including contracts, pricing, service levels, invoicing, and performance reviews
- Developing and executing operational initiatives that improve the workplace, such as launching new service programs, tightening vendor processes, or improving information and documentation management
- Coordinating across internal teams and external partners to keep services reliable, spaces well-run, and stakeholders aligned
- Creating systems, documentation, and processes to support workplace operations and scalability
The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced environments and enjoys keeping a busy workplace running smoothly. You are energized by both the big picture of employee experience and the operational details that make it work. You instinctively create systems and processes where none exist, are comfortable managing multiple vendors, priorities, and stakeholders simultaneously, and communicate clearly while following through consistently. You are curious, resourceful, willing to dig into unfamiliar problems, and enjoy scaling operations and improving how work gets done. You have excellent written and verbal communication skills across technical and non-technical teams and are comfortable learning and administering new operational tools and systems.
Requirements: The posting does not explicitly state years of experience or formal education requirements. However, it emphasizes the need for demonstrated experience in workplace operations, vendor management, and creating operational systems. Candidates should have a track record of managing multiple vendors and stakeholders, building processes and documentation, and improving operational efficiency in fast-growing environments.
