The West Coast Communications Manager will serve as a key operational partner to the Head of Communications, managing day-to-day communications execution and building systematic media relationships. This is a hands-on role that bridges strategy and execution.
Key responsibilities include:
- Own day-to-day comms priorities and execution, partnering closely with the Head of Communications
- Build and maintain communications calendars, trackers, and agendas for announcements, media moments, and events
- Coordinate internal workflows across announcements, media opportunities, speaking engagements, and events with Product, Marketing, and Executive stakeholders
- Develop and deepen relationships with tech reporters, AI beat reporters, newsletter writers, podcast hosts, and emerging voices in the AI/tech conversation
- Support end-to-end announcement launches from strategy through post-launch follow-up
- Draft pitches, media briefs, talking points, and prep documents positioning the company and spokespeople effectively
- Coordinate interviews, briefings, podcast appearances, and speaking opportunities with reporters, hosts, and internal teams
- Maintain coverage trackers capturing press mentions, sentiment, and share of voice across key narratives
Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a related field, 5-7 years of tech/AI or corporate communications experience, strong understanding of tech/AI startup and SF media landscape, excellent interpersonal and writing skills.
