Odeko is an all-in-one operations and technology platform serving over 20,000 independent coffee shops, cafes, and food establishments. The company provides a web portal and mobile app enabling customers to purchase supplies from hundreds of brands, track ordering trends, finance equipment, and access insurance. Odeko has 400+ employees and is mission-driven to support small independent food and beverage businesses. The VP of Strategic Sourcing will own the upstream commercial side of Odeko's supply chain, reporting to the Chief Supply Chain Officer. This is a newly created leadership role responsible for supplier management, category strategy, and building out a new category management organization. Key responsibilities include: (1) Supplier Management—owning the full supplier base (selection, consolidation, tiering strategy, performance enforcement), leading negotiations on price, MOQs, lead times, rebates, and payment terms, and managing DPO and cash conversion cycle; (2) Margin & Savings—driving improvements in gross margin percentage and landed COGS, ensuring negotiated savings are captured and realized, and owning price-increase response strategy; (3) SKU Selection & Category Growth—collaborating with revenue teams on catalog assortment, running Odeko's private label program from category selection through supplier development and margin structure; (4) Team Leadership—building out and designing the new category manager organization, defining categories, hiring leaders, establishing success metrics, and installing category review cadence. The ideal candidate brings 10+ years in sourcing, procurement, or merchandising with 5+ years leading teams in distribution, foodservice, CPG, or similar cost-of-goods-driven businesses. Must have managed $250MM+ in annual spend with documented savings reaching the P&L, personally led negotiations on $10M+ annual-value contracts, managed commodity-exposed categories, owned assortment decisions and new category launches, and deployed AI or advanced analytics against sourcing problems. Strong executive presence required to represent commercial supply strategy to leadership and partner with Supply Chain, Sales, and Finance. Nice-to-haves include M&A experience, private label development, perishables expertise, and high-growth company background.
