Salary: USD 400,000 - 450,000 / annual

Yuzu is building next-generation health insurance infrastructure, specifically a vertically integrated, tech-enabled Third-Party Administrator (TPA) platform for self-funded employer health plans. The TPA industry is a $500B market historically dominated by manual processes and legacy systems. Yuzu differentiates by enabling innovative health plans and aims to make custom health plan creation as accessible as building a Shopify storefront. This is a new VP Sales role and founding commercial seat focused on the broker channel. You will own the end-to-end motion: identifying target markets, establishing health system partnerships, building broker distribution, closing early employer groups, and eventually scaling a regional sales team. You'll work directly with the CEO and Head of Growth, leveraging a live, proven platform. Key responsibilities include: - Determining which direct networks and geographies to pursue - Defining the go-to-market playbook (messaging, process, pricing, channel strategy) - Hiring, onboarding, and developing a sales team as the business scales - Serving as a senior voice with product, marketing, and leadership - Representing Yuzu at industry conferences and key stakeholder convenings - Carrying personal revenue targets before building a team First 30 days: Build fluency in Yuzu's platform, operations, and current partnerships. Meet existing brokers and plan designers. Develop initial market targeting strategy. First 60 days: Execute outreach and early sales conversations with brokers and networks in target markets. Initiate health system partnership discussions with draft partnership structures. Deliver working go-to-market playbook including ICP, broker pitch materials, pricing inputs, and repeatable sales process. 90+ days: Secure first health system partnership (signed or advanced negotiation). Close or have late-stage pipeline with first employer groups with clear revenue line of sight. Document playbook and market-prioritization framework. Begin scoping first regional sales hire. Requirements: - 6+ years of commercial experience in health systems, managed care, or health plan sales - Must have experience selling through broker channels - Prior experience building or managing a sales team - Deep understanding of health plan economics, hospital system incentives, and employer dynamics - Entrepreneurial disposition; comfortable with ambiguity and building from scratch - Available for 30–40% travel
