Salary: USD 275,000 - 400,000 / annual
Datadog is seeking a VP of Investor Relations to lead the company's communication strategy with the investment community. This strategic role reports to the SVP of Strategic Finance and Investor Relations and serves as the primary interface between Datadog's executive leadership, finance team, and institutional investors, sell-side analysts, and prospective shareholders.
You will own the quarterly earnings process end-to-end, including writing press releases and earnings scripts, preparing management for analyst Q&A sessions, and supporting SEC filings and other public communications. You will develop and execute a comprehensive investor engagement strategy that maintains relationships with existing shareholders while identifying and cultivating new long-term investors. This includes leading interactions with 30+ covering sell-side research analysts, organizing and participating in investor conferences, hosting analyst days and non-deal roadshows, and conducting one-on-one meetings with key stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include understanding Datadog's financial statements and performance metrics, formulating quarterly revenue and profit guidance in partnership with FP&A, and conducting comparative valuation analyses against peer SaaS and software companies. You will distill complex business model, product, and market information into compelling investment narratives tailored to investors' tactical interests. You will also support ad hoc analytical projects from management and finance, prepare board materials and investor presentations, and ensure consistent messaging across all investor communications.
This is a cross-functional role requiring close collaboration with Finance, Legal, Product, and Marketing teams to unify company messaging and ensure alignment on strategic communications.

REQUIREMENTS:
- BA/BS in finance, accounting, economics, or engineering; MBA, CFA, or other advanced graduate degree preferred
- 10+ years of experience in investor relations, investment banking, equity research, equity investing, or similar roles
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to engage confidently with executive leadership, investors, analysts, and stakeholders at all levels
- Deep understanding of financial statements, metrics drivers, dependencies, and implications for analysis and forecasting
- Ability to understand and communicate the nuances of Datadog's business model, product, and market positioning
- Knowledge of enterprise software and cloud business models and their evolution
- High proficiency with Excel and willingness to learn analytical tools and programming languages as needed
- Experience at a high-growth tech company is a plus but not required
