Geordie is seeking a VP Finance to build and lead the finance function through the company's next stage of growth. This is a hands-on role combining strategic financial leadership with operational execution.
Initially, you will operate as the sole internal finance hire, responsible for building the entire finance function from first principles. Your responsibilities span financial planning, reporting, forecasting, cash management, and financial operations. You'll work closely with external finance partners who handle bookkeeping, VAT, and compliance.
Key responsibilities include:
FINANCIAL LEADERSHIP: Own the finance function end-to-end. Build robust financial planning, budgeting and forecasting processes supporting rapid growth. Own the company operating model including revenue, ARR, hiring plans, cash runway and scenario modelling. Produce clear, high-quality reporting for leadership, the Board and investors. Partner with the CEO and leadership team to provide financial analysis supporting strategic decision-making.
FINANCIAL OPERATIONS: Manage cash flow, treasury oversight and working capital. Oversee invoicing, accounts payable and financial operations. Build scalable quote-to-cash processes alongside RevOps and Legal. Ensure banking, insurance and core financial infrastructure operate effectively. Own financial compliance across UK and US entities, including tax requirements and R&D claims.
BUSINESS PERFORMANCE: Develop deep understanding of unit economics, gross margins and customer profitability. Help leadership understand capital deployment effectiveness. Support commercial teams with financial analysis on customer profitability, pricing and commercial structures. Partner with Product as a finance domain expert.
FINANCE SYSTEMS & AUTOMATION: Build a modern, efficient finance function through AI, automation and best-in-class systems. Work with the Internal Systems & AI Lead to identify automation opportunities. Continuously improve systems, processes and controls.
FUNDRAISING & GROWTH: Support future fundraising through financial modelling, investor reporting and due diligence. Help maintain financial discipline and operational maturity. Over time, build and lead a lean, high-performing finance team.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience leading finance within a high-growth B2B SaaS or technology company
- Strong background in FP&A, strategic finance or commercial finance with ability to build robust financial models and planning processes
- Comfortable operating as a hands-on individual contributor while building functions from first principles
- Experience producing Board and investor reporting and supporting fundraising or due diligence processes
- Strong commercial acumen with ability to translate financial data into actionable business insight
- Experience improving finance systems, processes and operational workflows
- Curious about AI and excited by the opportunity to build a modern, highly automated finance function
- Highly proactive, organised and comfortable operating independently in a fast-moving environment
