Overview.ai is deploying AI-powered computer vision systems on manufacturing production lines, solving inspection problems that traditional machine vision cannot address. The company operates a full-stack platform: GPU-powered edge cameras, on-device inference, and a cloud platform managing large fleets of deployed devices globally.
You will own a territory in the Great Lakes region, responsible for opening new inspection points and new customer logos, then expanding initial wins into multi-line and multi-site rollouts. This is not a cold start—the company already has major customers, executive buy-in, and live production deployments. Your role is to scale this proven motion into new regions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Territory ownership: Own pipeline, forecast, and revenue from BDR-sourced and inbound opportunities through close, with credit across all sites in your accounts.
- Technical discovery: Conduct discovery with Quality, Process, Automation, and Operations teams to identify real inspection problems and where incumbent solutions fail.
- Hands-on demonstrations and evaluations: Build inspection recipes, demo on real customer parts, and own proof-of-concept projects end-to-end, from line access and acceptance criteria to conversion readouts.
- Drive urgency and close deals: Manage milestones to dates, unblock line access and integration issues early, and prevent deal drift.
- Expansion: Convert first-station wins into repeatable rollouts across production lines, plants, and inspection points.
- Field presence: Spend 60–80% of time on the factory floor across your territory.
The role offers territory ownership from day one, delta selling based on demonstrable technical advantages, dedicated engineering escalation support, and a clear path to Strategic Accounts, Regional Lead, player-coach, or GM-style roles as the company scales.
REQUIREMENTS:
- You have personally deployed, commissioned, or debugged automation, vision, or industrial hardware on a production floor.
- You can pick up new technical products from documentation and put them to work quickly.
- You explain technical concepts clearly to plant and quality engineers and acknowledge when you don't know something rather than guessing.
- You have owned a number, earned commission, or driven a deal or expansion you can speak to with specifics. If more technical, you have factory floor experience and know how to engage technical customers and stakeholders.
- You do thorough homework and ask the right questions before pitching.
- You live in or will relocate to your territory and are energized by 60–80% travel.
STRONG PREFERENCES:
- Machine vision experience with Keyence, Cognex, or AI inspection vendors.
- Manufacturing floor time in automotive, aerospace, or electronics.
- PLC, controls, or automation experience.
- Startup or new-territory sales experience.
