Tantalus Systems (TSX: GRID) is a technology company helping utilities modernize their distribution grids through smart grid solutions spanning intelligent connected devices, communications networks, data management, enterprise applications, and analytics. The company operates across North America with offices in Burnaby (BC), Raleigh (NC), and Norwalk (CT).
The Vice President of Product Management will lead the vision, strategy, and execution of the product management function for a portfolio of electric utility distribution grid solutions. This is a strategic leadership role responsible for building and scaling a best-in-class product management organization and operating model.
Key responsibilities include:
**Product Vision & Strategy:** Define and communicate a multi-year product vision aligned to customer needs, market trends, regulatory dynamics, and company growth. Establish clear direction across metering, power measurement, AMI 2.0, ADMS, DERMS, distribution operations, load/demand management, and grid intelligence applications.
**Organization & Leadership:** Build and lead a high-performing product management team. Architect the product organization's operating model, including governance, discipline, and leadership practices. Create repeatable systems for product planning, roadmap review, customer feedback loops, launch readiness, and outcome tracking.
**Cross-functional Alignment:** Work closely with Product Development, Architecture, Customer Operations, Sales, Marketing, and Executive Leadership to translate customer needs and market opportunities into clear investment decisions and product outcomes. Elevate product management as a strategic capability driving alignment between market needs, product investments, and business results.
**Market Leadership:** Combine deep electric utility domain expertise (distribution grid technology, metering, power measurement, grid operations workflows) with market insight and technical credibility. Think beyond conventional utility playbooks to identify market direction and develop differentiated strategies that leverage the company's agility against larger incumbents.
**Performance Management:** Define how priorities are set, investment decisions are made, and product outcomes are measured across strategy, execution, customer value, and business impact.

This role requires deep domain expertise in electric utility distribution grid technology and the ability to build a product organization that translates utility needs into differentiated, measurable business results. Travel required for corporate meetings, industry conferences, and customer visits.
