Tantalus Systems (TSX: GRID) is a publicly traded technology company modernizing electric utility distribution grids through smart grid solutions spanning intelligent connected devices, communications networks, data management, enterprise applications, and analytics. The company operates across North America with offices in Burnaby (BC), Raleigh (NC), and Norwalk (CT).
The Vice President of Product Management will lead the entire product management function for a portfolio of electric utility distribution grid solutions. This is a strategic leadership role responsible for building and scaling a best-in-class product organization from the ground up. The VP will architect the product management operating model, including governance, planning processes, roadmap discipline, customer feedback loops, launch readiness, and outcome measurement frameworks.
Key responsibilities include defining multi-year product vision and strategy aligned to customer needs, market trends, regulatory dynamics, and company growth; establishing portfolio direction across metering, power measurement, AMI 2.0, ADMS, DERMS, distribution operations, load/demand management, and grid intelligence; building and leading a high-performing product management team; translating utility industry challenges into clear investment decisions and differentiated product outcomes; and working cross-functionally with Product Development, Architecture, Customer Operations, Sales, Marketing, and Executive Leadership to elevate product management as a strategic capability.
The ideal candidate combines deep electric utility domain expertise (particularly distribution grid technology), market insight, technical credibility, and organizational leadership. This leader must be entrepreneurial and forward-thinking, capable of identifying market inflection points and developing breakout strategies that allow a nimble organization to differentiate against larger incumbents through focus, speed, innovation, and customer value. The role requires establishing governance, discipline, and leadership practices that translate market needs and commercial priorities into clear outcomes and measurable business impact.
Position is based in Raleigh, NC or Norwalk, CT (in-office). Travel required for corporate meetings, industry conferences, and customer visits.
