edisyl is seeking a Vice President of Finance to lead both accounting operations and financial planning & analysis. This is a hybrid role combining controller and FP&A responsibilities—you'll own day-to-day financial operations (month-end close, reporting, controls, payroll, treasury) while serving as a strategic partner on budgeting, forecasting, and unit economics. You'll report directly to the CFO and manage a small team (one internal accounting FTE plus an outsourced bookkeeping firm). Key responsibilities include: executing accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closes; overseeing outsourced bookkeeping and setting accounting standards; producing management reporting packages for leadership and the board; establishing accounting policies and internal controls; managing payroll in partnership with HR; handling treasury and cash management; leading annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes; building financial models for scenario planning and headcount projections; partnering with department leaders on budget tracking and insights; preparing board and investor materials with variance analysis and KPI dashboards. You'll also own SaaS financial metrics (ARR, NRR, churn, CAC, LTV, payback period), manage AI credits and consumption-based revenue accounting, ensure revenue recognition compliance under ASC 606, track unit economics as the company scales, oversee the finance tech stack (accounting software, billing, reporting tools), drive process improvements, and support audit, tax, and regulatory requirements including sales tax compliance across jurisdictions. Required: 10+ years in finance with hands-on experience in both controller and FP&A roles; startup experience building processes from scratch; strong command of SaaS metrics; comfort doing the work yourself, not just directing; experience managing outsourced accounting relationships; financial modeling fluency (budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, scenario planning); proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar) and advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills; ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to non-finance audiences. Nice-to-have: CPA or MBA; prior controller experience; familiarity with AI credits, usage-based billing, or consumption-based revenue models; experience supporting a finance function through corporate transactions or integrations; ASC 606 revenue recognition expertise in SaaS; prior solo or near-solo finance leadership at companies under 50 people. You'll have a real seat at the table with direct access to the CFO and leadership team. The role offers competitive compensation, benefits, and flexibility in how and where you work with remote-friendly autonomy.
