Anduril Industries, a defense technology company transforming U.S. and allied military capabilities, seeks a Vendor Strategy & Performance Lead to oversee its global construction vendor ecosystem. This role sits within the Design & Construction team's Capital Operations function, which provides the operating backbone enabling the organization to scale its factory, lab, office, and secure facility projects.
The successful candidate will develop and execute Anduril's vendor strategy across key project-delivery categories including general contractors, construction managers, architects, engineers, owner's representatives, specialty consultants, and commissioning agents. Responsibilities span four primary areas:
Vendor Strategy: Build and maintain a preferred vendor bench organized by geography (US, APAC, Europe, Middle East), project type, technical specialty, security requirements, scale, and performance history. Identify opportunities to introduce new vendors to increase capacity, reduce risk, improve pricing, or access specialized capabilities.
Pre-Qualifications & Vendor Evaluation: Establish repeatable pre-qualification processes for construction, design, consulting, and specialty partners. Define evaluation criteria including relevant experience, team quality, technical capability, cost competitiveness, schedule performance, safety, security requirements, financial stability, regulatory compliance, and cultural fit. Build evaluation templates, interview guides, reference-check approaches, and scoring models that are rigorous but not bureaucratic. Maintain a central record of vendor qualifications, strengths, risks, and recommended use cases.
RFP, SOW & Commercial Support: Support select RFP engagements for major or strategically important vendor categories, partnering with Strategic Sourcing, Procurement, Legal, Finance, and D&C leadership. Help write clear scopes of work that reduce ambiguity and improve bid quality. Review proposals for scope gaps, assumptions, staffing concerns, and commercial risk. Provide input into fee models, rate cards, staffing plans, change management, and performance requirements.
Vendor Performance Management: Establish performance management rhythms including scorecards, business reviews, escalation paths, and action plans. Define KPIs across cost, schedule, quality, responsiveness, documentation, safety, and issue resolution. Create feedback loops so project experiences influence future vendor selection. Track vendor concentration, capacity risk, geographic coverage, and recurring issues. Build executive-ready materials communicating vendor performance and recommendations.
Required: Minimum 10 years progressive experience in construction management, corporate real estate, owner's representation, construction procurement, vendor management, commercial management, project controls, or related field. Strong understanding of construction project lifecycle.
