Wolt, part of DoorDash, is seeking a VAT Manager to serve as an in-house advisor on VAT matters across the business. This is a primarily advisory role where you'll be the go-to expert for VAT questions, working on multiple projects in parallel across Finance, Legal, Business, and Product teams.
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Providing VAT advisory support to multiple teams and projects across the business
- Reviewing new products and features for VAT treatment and implications
- Reviewing contracts from a VAT perspective, flagging risks and suggesting language
- Identifying, assessing, and managing VAT risks
- Supporting VAT audits and coordinating with tax authorities and internal stakeholders
- Supporting specific reporting obligations such as CESOP as a subject matter expert
You'll join a small, senior tax team with real ownership over VAT matters across Wolt's markets in over 500 cities across 30 countries. The role offers varied, hands-on work as the business expands into new products and geographies, with the opportunity to shape how VAT advisory is conducted at Wolt.
Requirements:
- Solid experience in VAT, including advisory work
- Experience with tax audits
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate VAT rules into practical, non-technical guidance
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work autonomously
- Nice-to-have: background in financial services VAT and experience with CESOP reporting
