As a Value Engineer, you will work directly with leading health systems to uncover hidden financial opportunities across complex contracts, financial data, and operational workflows. While Midstream's AI-native platform is designed to automate this work at scale, you will bring analytical judgment and healthcare expertise to investigate nuanced problems, validate findings, and translate insights into measurable financial impact.
You will own customer outcomes from initial analysis through ongoing engagement, building trusted relationships and ensuring partners consistently realize value. Your responsibilities include:
• Analyzing complex healthcare contracts, financial datasets, and operational information to identify margin improvement opportunities, going beyond surface-level insights to investigate discrepancies and validate findings
• Partnering with health systems to define success metrics, quantify financial opportunities, and guide initiatives from discovery through realization
• Developing deep understanding of health system operations, including supply chain, pharmacy, managed care, and financial decision-making
• Serving as a strategic partner to health system stakeholders ranging from analysts and operational leaders to finance executives
• Working closely with Product and Engineering to translate customer insights and complex workflows into scalable product capabilities
• Identifying opportunities to deepen customer engagement and support renewals and expansion into new use cases
This role combines hands-on problem-solving with meaningful customer impact, helping health systems improve financial performance while shaping the next generation of AI-powered healthcare operations.
REQUIREMENTS:
• 7+ years of relevant experience in healthcare consulting, financial analytics, value engineering, enterprise SaaS, or similar customer-facing roles
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with hands-on proficiency in Excel, SQL, and other analytical tools
• Deep understanding of health system operations, particularly financial and operational complexities in supply chain, pharmacy, managed care, or related functions
• Ability to connect contractual and financial data to how decisions are made and executed
• Strong communication skills to translate complex analytical findings clearly to stakeholders ranging from technical analysts to senior executives
• Outcome-oriented mindset, measuring success by financial and operational impact
• Commercial acumen and understanding of how delivering measurable value strengthens customer relationships
• Product-minded perspective and curiosity about AI's potential to transform analytical workflows
• High-ownership operator who thrives in fast-moving environments and works independently through ambiguity
