Profound is a marketing platform built for the AI search era, helping brands reach customers through AI models like ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI Mode. The company has achieved $1B valuation in 18 months with 100x revenue growth, serving 15% of Fortune 500 companies including Walmart, Wayfair, and U.S. Bank, backed by top-tier VCs including Sequoia and Kleiner Perkins. As a Value Consultant, you will operate at the intersection of sales, product, and customer success, partnering with account executives and presales teams throughout complex enterprise sales cycles. Your primary responsibility is to help enterprise prospects and customers understand Profound's platform value and develop tailored solutions that drive measurable outcomes. Key responsibilities include: partnering with sales teams to establish financially grounded business cases; understanding customer current-state processes, costs, challenges, and strategic priorities; building customized ROI, TCO, payback, NPV, and value realization models; translating operational improvements (productivity gains, cost reduction, revenue growth, automation) into financial outcomes; developing executive-ready business cases and value assessments; facilitating discovery sessions with business, finance, IT, and executive stakeholders; defining baseline and target future states with measurable benefits; quantifying both hard-dollar and strategic benefits; presenting findings to senior executives (CFO, CIO, COO); helping sales overcome budget objections; supporting late-stage deal strategy through economic differentiation; developing value-realization frameworks to track post-implementation benefits; and continuously improving ROI methodologies and financial models. You should have experience in value engineering, business value consulting, presales, strategic consulting, management consulting, financial analysis, or enterprise technology. Strong financial modeling and quantitative analysis skills are essential. You must be able to understand complex technology and translate technical capabilities into business and financial outcomes, with strong executive communication and presentation abilities. You should be comfortable working directly with customers during high-value enterprise sales cycles, operating with incomplete information while developing transparent and defensible assumptions, and building executive-facing business cases. Commercial judgment and understanding of enterprise buying processes are critical.
