Atoms is building Physical AI—real-world robots for industries including food, mining, and transport. The company integrates hardware, software, AI, operations, manufacturing, and real estate to deploy and operate autonomous systems at scale. As a Utility & Commodity Associate, you will optimize energy, utility, and operational costs across Atoms' portfolio. Your responsibilities include: • Energy & Utility Procurement: Monitor market signals and pricing trends; support electricity and natural gas contract execution; validate commercial terms; benchmark rates; audit utility bills; track rebates and incentive programs. • OpEx Optimization: Analyze operational expenses to identify leakage, discrepancies, and savings opportunities; investigate root causes and partner with cross-functional teams to drive corrective actions. • Power Generation & Smart Infrastructure: Evaluate solutions such as battery energy storage systems (BESS), generators, fuel cells, and microturbines for EV/AV charging depot networks, including vendor comparisons, technical assessments, and ROI analysis. • Scalable Workflows: Automate recurring processes such as rate benchmarking, bill reconciliation, rebate tracking, leakage detection, and reporting using scripting, dashboards, and AI-assisted development tools. • Vendor Management: Lead vendor outreach, compare technical and commercial proposals, and support negotiations across pricing, contract terms, renewals, and termination clauses. • Insights & Reporting: Maintain financial and operational trackers and translate complex data into clear recommendations for internal stakeholders and leadership. Success in this role means understanding why numbers moved, identifying opportunities before they become problems, and taking ownership of driving them to resolution. You will be equally comfortable analyzing utility bills, evaluating supplier proposals, negotiating commercial terms, and building automations that eliminate manual processes. The role is based in Bogotá and requires onsite presence five days per week. REQUIREMENTS: • Strong analytical skills with advanced Excel proficiency and experience working with large, multi-source datasets • Experience with Python, SQL, or similar tools to analyze data and automate recurring workflows • Comfort using AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or Claude Code • Strong attention to detail, ownership, and ability to work independently in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment • Clear written communication and confidence managing vendors and negotiating pricing and contract terms • Exposure to energy markets, utility billing, energy procurement, or DER/BESS technologies is a plus but not required • Experience with dashboards, APIs, or data pipelines is a plus
