Salary: USD 116,000 - 159,500 / annual

The company is scaling rapidly with strong product-market fit and world-class investor backing. As US Payroll Manager, you will own and scale payroll operations to support the company's fast growth. You'll be responsible for accurate, timely payroll processing for all US employees while ensuring full compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Key responsibilities include: - Process payroll accurately and on schedule, maintaining compliance across all jurisdictions - Review and approve termination checks - Collaborate with People Ops on payroll components of benefits programs (health, dental, vision, 401k, etc.) - Serve as primary point of contact for Workday HRIS enhancements and system optimization - Maintain accurate records for internal and external audits; assist with compliance audits - Ensure confidentiality and data integrity of all employee records - Support month-end close tasks related to payroll entries - Lead annual 401k audit and ensure funding reconciliation after each payroll cycle - Perform quarterly Form 941 filings and state tax reconciliations You'll work in a high-growth startup environment where you perform operational work efficiently while simultaneously building systems and processes for future scale. The role requires someone detail-oriented with excellent interpersonal skills who thrives under intensity and can manage multiple priorities across time zones. REQUIREMENTS: - 6+ years of payroll experience, with 2+ years in a supervisory or managerial role - Bachelor's degree (Business or related field preferred) - CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) highly preferred - Experience implementing or operating within a Workday HRIS environment - Experience with payroll accounting and tax compliance - Intermediate proficiency with Excel and Google Sheets - Excellent communication and customer service skills - Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally - Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environment - Problem-solving mindset with adaptability to changing requirements and ability to work under pressure - Sense of urgency around US payroll processes and comfort supporting multiple time zones
