Salary: USD 116,000 - 159,500 / annual

We are seeking an experienced US Payroll Manager to lead and scale our US payroll operations as the company grows. You will own accurate and timely payroll processing for all employees while ensuring full compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This role combines hands-on operational execution with strategic scaling—you'll perform the detailed work efficiently while building systems and processes for future growth.
Key responsibilities include:
- Processing accurate and timely payroll for all employees, ensuring regulatory compliance
- Reviewing and approving termination checks
- Collaborating with People Ops on payroll components of benefits programs (health, dental, vision, 401k, etc.)
- Serving as primary point of contact for Workday HRIS enhancements and optimization
- Preparing and maintaining accurate records for internal and external audits; assisting with compliance audits
- Ensuring confidentiality and security of sensitive employee data
- Assisting with month-end close tasks related to payroll entries
- Leading annual 401k audits and ensuring funding reconciliation after each payroll cycle
- Performing quarterly Form 941 filings and state tax reconciliations

REQUIREMENTS:
- 6+ years of payroll experience, with 2+ years in a supervisory or managerial role
- Bachelor's degree (Business or related field preferred)
- CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) highly preferred
- Experience implementing or operating within a Workday HRIS environment
- Experience with payroll accounting and tax
- Intermediate proficiency with Excel and Google Sheets
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Problem-solving attitude with adaptability to changing requirements and ability to work under pressure
- Sense of urgency around US payroll processes and comfort supporting multiple time zones
